Matrimonio Costa Azzurra

C’è stata la moda dei Caraibi, poi quella di Parigi, della Thailandia, di Las Vegas, ora gli italiani che cercano per il loro matrimonio una meta insolita ma raggiungibile hanno un nuovo sogno: la Costa Azzurra! In particolare per chi risiede a Torino e Milano la nuova destinazione sembra essere veramente il contesto ideale per nozze originali, insolite ma adatte anche a budget non necessariamente stellari. Le città più gettonate sono Cannes con i suoi alberghi da sogno e le spiagge modaiole, Nizza con le sue cattedrali, i divertenti locali notturni e la mitica Promenade des Anglais e sicuramente l’amatissima Antibes e il suo esclusivo Cap, le caratteristiche vecchie mura e le vie antiche del centro che portano verso le belle spiagge. Altra meta gettonatissima resta la Plage de Notre Dame sull’isola di Porquerolles, dove acque cristalline e sabbia bianchissima possono diventare la cornice ideale per un matrimonio da sogno in riva al mare. A voi la scelta, ce n’è per tutti i gusti!!!

Se marier à la plage

Di solito cerco di stare "nella stagione" ma questo destination wedding parla diritto al mio cuore Real Wedding: Erin + Chris' Destination Wedding And for our second destination wedding, we have the wedding of one of my favorite bloggers, Erin from Apartment 34! I've been following Erin's wedding planning all last year, so I'm super excited to share her wedding here today. And it was photographed by none other than Jose Villa! Erin also wrote her top 5 tips for planning a DIY destination wedding, so make sure to read those at the end also. Thanks Erin!

A bit about the wedding from Erin: In August, 2009 the most amazing man in the world got down on his knee and asked me to marry him at home plate in Safeco Field. After six months of planning, in April 2010 we took our closest family + friends to Baja for an intimate, DIY wedding ceremony on the shores of the Pacific. We followed that up with a giant party with all of our extended family + friends back in Seattle!

Top 5 Destination Wedding Planning Tips for the DIY Bride
1. Have realistic expectations. If, like me, you cannot afford to fly to your destination in advance identify everything that will be out of your control and make sure you're ok with that! That can include a lot of things such as the location, the food, the flowers & decor items.

2. Get local help. If at all possible, find someone who lives in your location to be your advocate. That may require translation, but it makes reaching local vendors A LOT easier. The easiest place to start is the manager of your venue, but don't be afraid to get creative! I ended up working with a contact of my brother's college professor!

3. Prioritize. This hearkens back to point #1. Since so many elements will be out of your control, identify (ideally with your fiance) what elements of your wedding day are the most important. That might be getting great wedding pictures, enjoying amazing food, or having a kickin' dance party. Put your time and energy into the things you care about most.

4. It's all in details. Just because you're traveling a long way doesn't mean you can't put your personal touch on things. Pack an extra bag to bring special items (for example, I brought particular candles, lots of paper products, gift bag, table clothes and custom napkins!) from home. You'll likely need multiple bags like we did – you'd be surprised how willing relatives are to carry them for you!.

5. Sit back and relax. When it comes down to it, the heart of your wedding is the commitment you're making to your partner. While amazing flowers are heavenly and the perfect place settings so fun and the ideal temperature a dream you don't need those things to go right, for the day to feel so right. All you need is your love. Cheesy? Yes. True? Absolutely. You don't have to take my word for it, but here was my wedding motto: nothing can go wrong when tequila is involved!

Cosa ci portiamo nel 2011

E' l'ultimo post di gennaio ed ormai i trend del 2010 sono stati ampliamente trattati. Il passo successivo è chiedersi cosa ci porteremo nel 2011, quali sono i trend / non trend che continueranno a piacerci. Il vintage non è un trend passeggero: vedremo sicuramente vestiti vintage, ma la ricerca dello chic non si limita alla moda degli abiti. Vedremo anche decori, dettagli vintage per rendere ancora più belle le vostre fotografie. Sull'abito: le maniche sono tornate, si vedranno abiti corti dall'ispirazione retrò e poi mi aspetto tanti adorabili accessori, prime fra tutte le velette. I decori vintage per la vostra location non hanno limite: dai libri vecchi o antichi ad uccellini di vari materiali scovati nei mercatini. Lasciatevi ispirare dal tema e date inizio alla caccia. Per rendere più interessanti le fotografie potreste pensate ad una macchina da scrivere vintage o a delle valigie.

I photo booth sono un trend in crescita e che sicuramente non finirà con il 2010. Sono un modo simpatico di intrattenere gli invitati mentre gli sposi fanno le foto di rito, rendendo loro più facile socializzare. Non ci libereremo dei macarons (personalmente li adoro e non ho bisogno di liberarmente) non solo perchè sono buonissimi e di mille sapori, ma perchè hanno dei colori bellissimi che si possono adattare ad ogni stile di matrimonio: dal più classico, al più pop.

E poi mi aspetto tanti anemoni, nei bouquet, nei decori.

Lovely Little Details {Bloggers Unveiled}

Jacin from Lovely Little Details is one of my fave wedding bloggers out there and I feel so honoured she let me post her interview. Thank you Jacin, you're a doll. This post is a long due, sorry for the delay.

In questi mesi sono successe, e cambiate, tante cose, mi sento quindi ancora più onorata che Jacin di Lovely Little Details abbia accettato di lasciarmi fare un post conclusivo alla sua serie {Bloggers Unveiled}.

How did you get started in the wedding world? I first started planning weddings and special events for the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, Rhode Island, and ever since then I have been hooked.

What is your makeup staple? DiorShow mascara and Bare Escentuals bronzer. I need a bit of a glow!

What's one thing that others don't know about you? I lived in Australia after graduating college – I always wanted to go, but because I played lacrosse in college, my sports schedule always interfered with study abroad timing (don't get too excited - it wasn't D1 lacrosse, but I still took it seriously) :). So after college, and working a real job for a while, I decided there was no time like the present, got a work visa, and made the 26–hour trip to Australia. I went alone, which was scary at first, but ended up being the best decision I could have made – you have no choice but to meet friends when you travel alone!

Oh, and I can also find four leaf clovers on command – it's my party trick.

What's one piece of advice you would give to others trying to get started with their own business? Throw fear of failure out the window, otherwise you'll be the only thing holding yourself back. That and make sure this is something you really want to do. Once you know it's something you want – never, ever give up. Keep moving – you can do it!

What is your favorite part about weddings? How a couple can carry a theme throughout their big day by incorporating special details. Little tiny details that some might not even notice at first. I love those details. I'm also a sucker for the speeches.

What is your hobby outside of blogging {is there life outside blogging} :)?

I love to go wine tasting with my husband and explore all that California has to offer. I love shutting down the computer and phone and just enjoying life outside social media. It does exist, if you can believe it! :)

Matrimonio Minimalista

Less is more (meno è di più) è un'espressione tratta da una poesia di Robert Browning, che è diventata poi il paradigma del minimalismo. Un matrimonio minimal non è in cima alla lista di quelli più desiderati, ma io credo abbia il suo perchè. Questo matrimonio, celebrato nella casa degli sposi, è stato una seconda scelta: il progetto di un matrimonio esotico alle Hawaii, patria di lei, è stato annullato per problemi di salute di alcuni membri della famiglia. Gli sposi hanno quindi optato per casa loro ma non avevano in mente nessun tema. L'unica cosa che sapevano era di voler porre l'accento su di loro come singoli e come coppia, e più ci pensavano più era la famiglia ad essere in primo piano. Il risultato è un matrimonio moderno, minimalista ed insieme ricercato. Alcuni dettagli per cui si distingue sono la parete dedicata alle foto di famiglia (oltre una cinquantina) e la lista degli invitati, sulla lavagna del menù, sotto la scritta Family. La famiglia come ingredientie fondamentale. Delicatissimo il bouquet di succulents e particolare la scelta della sposa di uno spezzato corto, gonna più camicia con il collo alla coreana. Mi piacciono le panchine in pelle bianca per gli ospiti, e la loro disposizione ordinata e simmetrica. Resta un unico dubbio: cosa scegliere come bomboniera per un matrimonio minimalista? Solo confetti da regalare in una scatolina di plexigas.

Il matrimonio è un po' come un salto nel vuoto. Serve coraggio, un pizzico di incoscienza e, proprio come un salto, state pronte perchè vi togliera il fiato :)

What a week / Che settimana / Quelle semaine

Sono stati giorni silenziosi, come qualcuno ha notato (grazie per aver chiesto mie notizie) ma c'era bisogno di me e, quando si tratta di priorità, le mie sono chiare. Questa settimana, quindi, ho avuto poco tempo per tutto il resto, ma queste sono state alcune delle mie foto preferite: tesori da mercatini dell'antiquariato. Non mi stanco mai di vedere riportati a nuova vita oggetti che altri hanno accantonato e smesso di considerare. Queste sono tratte dal post che presentava un nuovo sponsor di Grey Likes. Grey Likes, ovvero Summer Watkins, che questa settimana era anche su Lovely Little Details per il consueto Bloggers {Unveiled} qui, che è diventato uno dei miei appuntamenti preferiti della settimana.

E poi ancora ... il lancio di una nuova compagnia è sicuramente una di quelle occasioni da festeggiare con un photo shoot. Questo, via 100 Layer Cake, delicatissimo, è ispirato alla dolcezza della Primavera e ci mostra qualche idea carina per il pranzo di Pasqua o magari per la scampagnata di Pasquetta. Adoro le posate antiche d'argento, qui in versione "very vintage" e tutte scompagnate.

Infine, come non lasciarsi emozionare da questa e-sesh in fattoria, via The Bride's Cafe? Country e tenera al punto giusto.

Oggi sarò di poche parole. Per fortuna certi matrimoni hanno un fascino di per sè stessi e non occorrono tante spiegazioni. Piacciono e basta. O non piacciono, ma quello è un altro discorso ... Baci veloci, buon inizio settimana
